Whom Shall I Fear?
WHOM SHALL I FEAR?
Psalm 27
I. WE WILL FACE THINGS THAT TEMPT US TO FEAR
- What is fear?
- Two layers of fear
- A response of the heart
- The opposite of confidence
- Anything that causes us to seek our stronghold for refuge
- A result of trusting an insufficient stronghold
II. FEAR HAS NO PLACE WHEN THE LORD IS OUR STRONGHOLD
- Trusting the Lord brings confidence and removes fear
- Trust in the Lord comes as a result of seeking Him
- He is our light, salvation, and strength.
- He will shelter us, conceal us, and lift us up.
- Seeking the Lord means beholding His beauty
- Seeking the Lord means openness in prayer
- Seeking the Lord means waiting on Him
- Behold – contemplation that pursues knowledge
- Beauty – glory and goodness that provoke delight
