Revelation 4-5

I. A SCENE OF AWESOME BEAUTY AND MAJESTY

*(4:2) A throne set in heaven

  1. (4:2) ON the throne – the Lord God Almighty
  2. (4:3,4; 5:11) AROUND the throne – a rainbow, 24 elders, a multitude of angels
  3. (4:5) FROM the throne – lightnings, thundering, voices
  4. (4:5,6) BEFORE the throne – seven lamps of fire, a sea of glass

E. (4:6-8a) IN THE MIDST OF and AROUND the throne – 4 living creatures

II. A SCENE OF AWESOME WORSHIP AND PRAISE

  1. They ALL recognize Him for Who He is
  2. They ALL respond to Him for Who He is

  1. They recognize Him as God
  2. They recognize Him as the Lamb

  1. (4:8) The praises of the living creatures
  2. (4:9-11) The praises of the 24 elders

  1. (5:8-10) The praises of the 24 elders
  2. (5:11-12) The praises of the multitude of angels

  1. (4:9) The living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to Him
  2. (4:10; 5:8,14) The 24 elders fall down and worship Him
  3. (4: 8,10; 5:9,12,13) Every creature expresses praise to Him
