PRAISE AND THANKS

I Chronicles 29:10-19

Introduction: v.13 – Now therefore, our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name.

I. PRAISE: AN EXPRESSION OF AWE FOR GOD’S GREATNESS

1. He addresses God reverently
2. He acknowledges God’s attributes accurately

II. THANKS: AN EXPRESSION OF APPRECIATION FOR GOD’S GIFTS

1. He recognizes that God owns all things
2. He recognizes that whatever he has was given to him by God
3. He recognizes that using these gifts right brings God pleasure

Conclusion: v.18-19 David’s requests:

1. Keep this in the people’s hearts
2. Keep the people’s hearts fixed on You
3. Keep my son’s heart loyal to You.
