LOVE: THE TRUE MARK OF CHRISTIANITY

John 15:9-17

I.  CHRIST GIVES US THE EXAMPLE OF LOVE

1. He demonstrated love for His Father
2. He demonstrated love for His disciples

1. (v.9a) He knew His Father loved Him
2. (v.10b) He obeyed His Father’s commands

1. (v.13) He gave His life for us
2. (v.14-15) He calls us friends
3. (v.16) He has chosen us

II.  CHRIST GIVES US THE COMMAND TO LOVE

1. We demonstrate our love for Christ by obeying His commands
2. The command He wants us to obey is to love others
