Looking Up

Lamentations 3:19-27

Drowning in hardship

Looking down happens on accident.

Looking down is discouraging.

Looking up in the middle of hardship

Looking up is intentional.

Looking up does not mean ignoring or trivializing the pain (3:27-30).

The view above:

1. A merciful God
2. A compassionate God
3. A faithful God

Conclusion: This God is my portion

My response: Wait for him.

Waiting is both passive and active

Waiting honors God’s wor­thiness

Waiting acknowledges my own inadequacy
