JESUS CHRIST IS LORD

Philippians 2:5-11

I. (v.6-8) HIS SUPREME HUMILITY

1. He voluntarily limited Himself
2. He voluntarily sacrificed Himself

1. He was absolutely and essentially God
2. He became absolutely and essentially man
3. He was willing to lay aside, for a time, the independent exercise of His attributes as God without ever ceasing to be God.

• Did not consider it robbery to be equal with God
• Made Himself of no reputation

1. He sacrificed His life
2. He sacrificed His dignity

II. (v.9-11) HIS SUPREME HONOR

1. He was exalted
2. He is Lord

Conclusion: “to the glory of God the Father”
