I. (v.8-9a) ABRAHAM OBEYED BY FAITH

*Even though he didn’t know where it would lead

1. Abraham obeyed God even though it meant leaving what was familiar
2. Abraham obeyed God even though it meant living in what was foreign

1. He was called to leave a place that was familiar
2. He was called to leave people who were familiar

1. He was called to live in a foreign land
2. He was called to live in tents

II. (v.9b-10) ABRAHAM WAITED BY FAITH

*Even though he didn’t know how or when God would fulfill His promises

1. He trusted God’s promise of an earthly inheritance
2. He trusted God’s promise of a heavenly inheritance
