Hebrews 11:1-3

I. (v.1) A DESCRIPTION OF FAITH

1. What faith is - confidence in the trustworthiness of God
2. What faith does

1. Believing in His existence
2. Believing in His character
3. Believing in His Word

1. Faith gives us confidence regarding the things we hope for
2. Faith gives us conviction regarding the things we can’t see

II. (v.3) AN EXAMPLE OF FAITH

1. A basic question – where did everything come from?
2. A basic problem – we weren’t there to see it
3. A basic choice – we are confident in the trustworthiness of God

1. We believe that He framed the worlds by His word as He said
2. We believe that He made everything visible out of nothing as He said
