THE PRINCE OF PEACE

John 14:27

I.  WE NEED PEACE

1. Because of the tribulations of the world
2. Because of the tendencies of our hearts

John 16:33 – “in the world you WILL HAVE tribulation”

1. Our hearts can be troubled
2. Our hearts can be fearful

II.  JESUS GIVES PEACE

1. His peace is a gift to us
2. His peace is different than the world’s peace
3. His peace is delivered through His Spirit

1. He glorifies Christ (15:26; 16:14) – faith in Christ produce peace
2. He guides people into all truth (14:26; 16:13) – faith in God’s Word produces peace
