PREPARING FOR PERSECUTION

John 15:18-16:4 

I.  WHY IT WILL COME

1. (15:18,20) Because we represent Christ
2. (15:19) Because we are not “of this world”

Why did the world hate Christ?

1. (15:21,23,24; 16:3) They didn’t know God
2. (15:22,24) He exposed their sin
3. (15:25) He was fulfilling prophecy

1. They heard His teaching
2. They saw His works

1. The world doesn’t determine our behavior
2. The world doesn’t determine our beliefs

II.  WHAT WE CAN DO

1. (15:26-27) We must rely on the Holy Spirit
2. (16:1,4) We must rely on the Word of God
