Romans 4:9-25

Key verse: 4:5 “But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness”

Key terms:

1.      Imputed/accounted – put on one’s account

2.      Righteousness – being absolutely right or perfect

3.      Justified – being declared righteous

4.      Faith – trust in or reliance on someone or something

I.  (v.9-15) RIGHTEOUSNESS IS NOT PUT ON OUR ACCOUNT BY WORKS

A.      (v.9-12) Trusting in rituals won’t do it

1.      (v.9-10) He emphasizes when Abraham was circumcised

2.      (v.11-12) He emphasizes why Abraham was circumcised
